Tracie was introduced to pastels in 2002, and attended classes with Lyn Mantell for several years, before moving to pastel workshops at the Old Schoolhouse at Grose Wold with Taryn Malzard. Her commissioned works are mostly dog portraits, drawing on her experience as a dog judge, breeder, and exhibitor to capture her subject’s unique expression and breed characteristics. One of her portraits was used in Eva Holderegger Walser’s book Australian Cattle Dogs, to illustrate the chapter on Australian Stumpy Tail Cattle Dogs. She has recently ventured into the world of illustrating, with the first book in a new series of children’s books by Fiona Knight called “The Adventures of Parker the Puli” released in October 2020, with a second book to follow shortly.

Kathleen started Folk Art classes in 2000 at the age of five with the Macquarie Towns Art Society, moving to regular Art Classes at the age of seven uder the guidance of Lyn Mantell, before taking pastel classes with Taryn Malzard. She has been exhibiting her artwork since the age of five and has several awards to her name.
